14 is the 3rd discrete biprime ( 2 . 7 ) and the 3rd member of the (2.q) discrete biprime family, says wikipedia. It is also the number of millions of GPS located networks now on the ol' WiGLE. Congrats to 'njhorvath' who snuck in the upload that pushed over the big counter. On to 15!

despite our best efforts, and the efforts of no less than half a dozen of the world's best kittens, the 13th million network was located this evening. it may come as a surprise to long-time WiGLE watchers that Dutch managed to edge out many worthy defenders to snatch that dubious incremental honor. congrats to Dutch, and sorry that we'll have to send the labcoat back to get another set of hashmarks added.

Things that increase steadily make me happy. Things that increase at an increasing rate make me even happier! Congrats go to ccie4526 for his/her obsessive stumbling and inscruitable nickname. Additional props go to ALL our users. Stay tuned for more exciting announcements, and keep on stumbling!

The precocious WiGLE is now six years old. So cute! Six years ago on September 7th the first file post was made, and look at it now. A bit more chubby these days, with 11.5 million networks, but still ravenous for MORE!
Older Articles

WiGLE: An online database which accepts "stumbles" or "WiLDs" in the "wi-scan", "wi-scan with extensions" and "CWGD" formats (GPS tagged data about 802.11 wireless networks). NetStumbler, DStumbler, Kismet, Pocket Warrior and other clients generate data in these formats. Data is stored in a database, locations are triangulated, and data is shared via web requests.

JiGLE: An interactive, zoomable java-based client to WiGLE. Plot, relate, and look up wireless networking from stumbles or from the WiGLE database, overlaying them on GIS maps of cities. Current version: 0.7.5

DiGLE: A Windows native mapping client similar to JiGLE. Current: 0.1.1

RiGLE: A Java backend "MapPack" generator which can generate maps for JiGLE on request via this website. The maps are created from raw ascii TIGER geographic data from the Census Bureau and NIMA, and therefore we are not restricted by anyone else's copyrights.

PRInGLE: A Palm mapping client (coming someday!)
