Re: Database download ?

I believe there's an option in the wigle app for android to download your observations... it's under the database tab. After it's imported, you can export to a CSV. There's probably a cleaner way to do it but I don't know how. IMG_20160825_234218.jpg I was looking for away to download every entry o...

Re: Raspberry War Pi

Fixed my gps. Turns out I had a broken ground on my antenna, so I'm back to the wired unit... much better. Figured I'd share a few more braindroppings for anyone that needs idea fodder. I learned the best way to edit your crontab is by this... very handy instead of editing the files directly. cronta...

Raspberry War Pi

I'm using the Raspberry Pi 3; it has onboard Bluetooth. I've been tinkering a bit with my Raspberry pi. I managed to somehow fry my gps unit and it won't lock, so I've tied into my phone to use it's gps instead. I think the 4 feet apart they are in the car is an acceptable margin of error. For the p...

Re: Map Printout readability

My name's Jim. Only went with the random numerical name because WiGLE was giving me a LOT of problems logging in, originally. The instructions varied between the Internet page, and the handheld page. And, my Moto X 1st generation has given me a lot of trouble. It may have something that Bobzilla ca...

Re: Map Printout readability

I also use paper maps to plan a route around places that I haven't gone over yet. ... and there's a couple different people that'll suggest different things, and it depends on your budget really. My full wigle gear consists of my phone (Moto X Play ... which puts itself to sleep and only does an int...

Question about Kismet files

I'm loving my new wardriving rig with the rpi ... but I have a quick question for Bobzilla or uhtu ... maybe someone else that has knowledge of the way the WiGLE engine works. I'm uploading 3 files, gpsxml, nettxt and netxml. The only new wifi credits I get are from the gpsxml files. On your end, wh...

Re: Raspberry pi wardrivers?

Question to @strasharo or possibly @bobzilla I'm watching my upload list and I had a question about the wigle engine and kismet... I'm uploading 3 file types, gpsxml, nettxt and netxml, I understand there's a lot of duplication between them. I get credit for the gpsxml file because that has the ssid...

Re: Raspberry pi wardrivers?

Dlink 835 router (2x Atheros cards) Openwrt and Kismet Drone (2010 release... anything else didn't work - hardware or software compatability issues) Took it for a test run, place...

Re: Raspberry pi wardrivers?

In my car I'm slightly worried about power consumption if left unattended for a while, but when I'm rolling I'm not very concerned about consumption. I'm debating just wiring it into a switched line - probably a relay tied the remote on for my amp. Bad practice to just kill everything but it's fast ...

Re: Raspberry pi wardrivers?

Alter the logtypes variable in your kismet.conf . By default it should be something like: logtypes=pcapdump, gpsxml, netxml, alert Remove alert and pcapdump from it, you don't need those. Looked right over it several times. Don't I feel like a moron. Thanks strasharo! Next to-do list: Migrate to my ne...

Re: Raspberry pi wardrivers?

I haven't figured out where to shut off the pcapdump ... just change the filename formatting. :x

... I've contemplated taking my gps off of the pi and slapping it onto my old router running openwrt. No reason why I can't use it instead lol

Re: Raspberry pi wardrivers?

What distribution are you using on the Raspberry? I can help with the setup, I have a similar one already running. Raspian Jessie. I just followed the instructable at http://www.teambsf.com/wireless/war-pi-2-0/ ... got it to reboot and it's semi-functional. I'm not sure of all the kismet output fil...

Re: Raspberry pi wardrivers?

Hey guys I could use a bit of help. I'm a n00b to Kismet and gpsd. Attached is my current proto build, a neo 6m gps unit and a realtek 8187 wifi adapter (yes, I know I've got a yagi antenna on it, but I'd use it on the road to patch in to wifi at a distance. It's got a wider beam than my planar ante...

Tasker - a bit of help?

Hi, Background: I have my old phone setup in my car to wigle, pretty much 24/7. See photo here from the post pics of your rig thread: https://wigle.net/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1451#p7496 I have Tasker (automation app) to start Wigle on boot. Getting wigle to run isn't a problem. Tasker will al...
