Re: Upload failure

All is working, once I saw the password failure I though it might be a services issue. Everything is fixed and works as far as us great unwashed users can see - we appreciate everything getting fixed so quickly. Thanks You

Re: Upload failure

It took a bit of fiddling around but I managed to upload it by copying it to Google Drive and then manually uploading it (twice by accident, sorry about that). Turns out the file was a lot larger than I was expecting so it may just have been a size issue. I'll clear the phone and reinstall Wigle.

Settings? We've heard of them.

Looking at the Google Play Android page I saw "Thanks for your interest! While the app is a bit of an expert tool, maybe the forums at can provide some insight! Feel free to reach out with questions there or in email" so here I am (LOL) just to see if there is anything here and aft...

Re: Detecting Gas Pump Skimmers by Bluetooth signature (Bluetana / SkimPlus)

I would expect that the Wigle app could be modified to provide an alert when a specific ID is found but the problem is that Wigle can then be used for hunting.

Re: wow...everybody buying online ?

"can I run a smartphone WITHOUT cellphone ability?"
Yes, you can use an old phone with a SIM card but you don't need a phone number/account, all you need is a functioning GPS on the phone and then you can upload via WiFi when you get home.

Re: Google Pie and Wifi Wardriving
On Android 10, in programming options throttling can be turned off.
Thanks - I just upgraded my Pixel to Android 10 and it's working great once I became "a developer" and turned the scanning limit off - prior to the upgrade I would ...

Re: Querying for exact match SSID name

I wonder if there might be a market for an app that simply records the last 48 hours of nearby wireless devices (particularly BT devices) with the option to search for them in the database and display some statistics or send an alert is a specific ID appeared. This might be a potential security app ...

Re: New WiGLE map´s uploaded to Wikimedia? (current ones are from 2007)

I did a quick edit to remove the logos if this helps - the file appears to be too big to upload here so I've posted it on pixeldrain - it will be available for 100 days.

Cell phone coverage maps?

There's an interesting story (link below) about the state of Vermont checking the phone company claims for cell phone coverage and finding that they are very misleading - it is possible that Wigle could be used to guide a project like this?

Re: User Statistics not displaying correctly on Android Pie?

I just "upgraded" from a Nexus 5X with 8.1.0 to a Pixel XL with Android 9 and saw the same problem. WiGLE appeared to install and work but scanned data was not uploaded and vanished whenever WiGLE was turned off. The dashboard would show a nets scanned count on the drive into work but when I turned ...

Maps not loading today

Looks like a little hiccup with maps today - the page says that it can't load Google Maps. I've attached a screen capture running Firefox on Windows 7, it was working yesterday.

Re: Welcome new users, a note about the interactive maps
Sure enough, we're still light on the data front. The team is on it! PS> search pages are still operating on all data; only the map tile generation system failed to keep pace.
I was thinking that you'd simply purged all the old AP data which, given what I see locally, wouldn...
