Re: Wigle Wifi for Android: Suggestions

The easy way to determine which upload is from which phone is to upload the data on different days, a choice that has absolutely zero data monitoring risks because the user doing the uploads is the only person with any full knowledge of it. This is just a suggestion but it's what I've done for years...

Re: Uploads Not Trilaterating...

Delays start at the end of every month for a day or two - I think it's just lots of people working to boost their stats rating at the end of a month. I always think it's fun to see users jump up 10+ rankings (LOL that's never me) :D And now, on March 3rd we see a quiet morning: WiGLE queue status: 4...

Re: Google update bug?

Thanks, a fix will be nice when it gets done but getting everything "done" these days is slower in my world so when it works for you is fine with me. :D However it's very nice to see so many other people in the stats starting to create retrieve samples ... so nice because about a year ago ...

Re: Google update bug?

Thanks for examining my problem! I appreciate your work keeping this all so functional. I'll watch for an update, I've always been so confident using old devices and software and the Nexus has always been to nice to use. However the Nexus is an old system so I accept that eventually it will be retir...

Google update bug?

Wigle Wifi has been working on my Nexus 6 for years. But I got an "update" this week that has completely stopped it working. I tried a reinstall and that didn't fix it - is it possible to get an earlier Wigle version to return to the original working version in the older environments?

Re: Waiting for GPS sync

Everything is working with the old Nexus devices now that they have both had a complete delete and WiGLE re-installation :D

Re: Waiting for GPS sync

Can't replicate with my 7.x devices, but will continue to investigate. I've certainly seen GPS software get into a weird state - have you... tried turning it off then on again? I think this is a Google issue, I just fired up an old Nexus phone running the WiGLE 2.64 version and was showing a simila...

Re: Waiting for GPS sync

Please include the WiGLE app version and how you installed it... also, is this stock 7.1.1 or a 3rd party distribution? The WiGLE app is 2.74, the original installation was years ago (it's an old but very nice device but I don't use it as a phone now) and the update was just the standard Google Pla...

Waiting for GPS sync

I just updated all the apps on my Nexus 6 phone running Android 7.1.1 and WiGLE WiFi says that it's "Waiting for GPS sync..." and then after a few minutes is shows the LAT and Lon data fro about one second and then returns to "Waiting for GPS sync" But when I look at WiGLE - Map ...

Re: Permanent scanner location

That would just be collecting information, the fact that the location is fixed probably isn't significant, after all if you are driving around and have Wigle running on your phone then you're collecting location information on every car hotspot that you pass too. I saw this years ago after driving i...

Re: Android 11: Good to update?

The latest Wigle update is working very well on Android 13 and my old Nexus still running Android 7.1.1 - all problems with GPS seem to have disappeared :D

Re: Android 11 wiggle update 2.64 no scann cell

A quick way to check this issue is upload the scans and then, once it's been processed, look at what has been detected. I upgraded Android a day ago and just saw that the last upload had no cell phone scans at all so I've applied the suggestions and will go and do another upload tomorrow to see what...

Re: Massive re-trilateration effort in progress

That's good to hear, for years now I've noticed locations appearing in areas that seemed unlikely (deep in swamps), trilateration is not an easy calculation so it was not too surprising given all the variables in everyone's "measurements". This will be very nice to see, thank you!
