Detecting Gas Pump Skimmers by Bluetooth signature (Bluetana / SkimPlus)

Hello, take a look at this: https://thehackernews.com/2019/08/credit-card-skimmer-detector.html They use a sequence of steps to see if a bluetooth device is a skimmer inside a ATM / Gas pump. Bluetana paper: http://cseweb.ucsd.edu/~schulman/docs/sec19-bluetana.pdf Basically they see if the MAC prefi...

Re: WiGLE WiFi for Android phone performance comparison

the rpi is running 2019-08-R1 kismet, exact setup: War-Pi
Its a bit a unfair device against smartphones in terms of performance, but also way more complicated to use.

Re: Kismet best settings for minimum memory load? (Raspberry Pi)

with the update to stop packet/message logging, and turning off the manufacture lookup i was able to get 10k devices with only 60% memory consumed :D

the .kismet then only contains the devices, im not shure if there is anything else that can be taken off without breaking it.

Re: Rasberry Pi

i have it sitting on the dashboard, nothing hidden, looks for shure a bit shady :D a nicer 3d printed enclosed would be good, but even more a refined gui script, there is a lot of manual command´s needed to get the *.kismet files into csv and then wo WiGLE :? price depends on the WIFI sticks you wan...

Kismet best settings for minimum memory load? (Raspberry Pi)

Hello, Kismet (2019 version) logs a LOT, so with 1gb ram im only able to capture ~12k devices before memory is out. But then when converting to WiGLE csv a lot of packets are dropped, either due to missing GPS or as its only a Device but no Hotspot. So, with what settings can the memory footprint be...

Re: Kismet build in kismetdb_to_wiglecsv exports everything as wifi, hardcoded.

kismet shows all the bluetooth devices with a signal power of 0, is this a problem?

(over at the github there is feedback that this is a issue)

Re: Kismet build in kismetdb_to_wiglecsv exports everything as wifi, hardcoded.

thanks! i made a pull request to kismet: https://github.com/kismetwireless/kismet/pull/161

this is marking all as BT, i could not figure out how to make the BT / BLE difference :?

Kismet build in kismetdb_to_wiglecsv exports everything as wifi, hardcoded.

Hello, to replace my crippled android 9 phone, i jumped on a rpi-zero running kismet. so far so good. Im also using the onboard bluetooth to capture, so i have a Wifi and a Bluetooth source. It also shows this in the GUI. As its the latest (right now git state) i can only store in the *.kismet file,...

Re: Google Pie and Wifi Wardriving

on the issue tracker somebody mentioned that splitscreening it with the build in wifi selection gives about 10seconds scan intervals. i tried it, and it works! it does only work as long as keep it split screened, and kind of...

Re: Android Pie and WiGLE - news articles about scan-throttling

my main device just got the 9 update, and it basically is now useless  It scans Bluetooth like crazy, but Wifi while driving is actually not working like this. But as the list from the last scan stays, does it means i will report the position from this wifi´s while im moving? so reporting pot...
