Re: Slow scan speeds on Android.

I did a side by side test with my Note 3 and Galaxy Nexus. One is a newer phone and the other isn't. One is locked down and won't allow you to change the 5ghz settings and the other isn't. Note 3 : 429 networks Galaxy Nexus : 842 networks The results are clear, scanning for the 5ghz slows down scann...

Re: Slow scan speeds on Android.

I think I have the slow scan speeds figured out. It's the 5ghz scanning that is slowing up the phone. On my Note 2 and Note 3 Samsung has disabled the option to turn off 5ghz WiFi. On my old Galaxy Nexus I can turn off 5ghz WiFi and it helps out a ton. Getting around 450ms scan time now and much mor...

Using Android as NMEA for PC

Is there a way to use my Android phone as a GPS for a wardriving rig? I would perfer it to be USB since Bluetooth will lessen my results by creating interference.

Slow scan speeds on Android.

Why does my phone scan so slow. It normally scans around 3500 ms. I have ask the settings set to they lowest possible but it still doesn't work. I have had other phones scan at 800 ms before. So why would a newer phone scan at such a low speed.

I'm using a Verizon Note 3.

Re: Dirt Cheap Wardriving Rig

How does this compare to like a Nexus 7, That is my current Wardriving device and it works great. Has better range and speed then my Galaxy Note 2. I would love for something a bit smaller that I could leave in the car for Wardriving.

Re: android app: reports hidden networks?

I don't understand what you mean about certain classes of networks. The app will report anything and everything it sees. Open, WEP, WPA, your own network. Who cares what it will report as WiFi is being radiated in the public. If someone wanted to be secure they would never use WiFi.

Re: Anyone else having problems with webmaps and Chrome?

That happens every time I use Chrome. Up in the address bar there will be a silver shield. Click that and select allow. That will load the map for you.

Re: A quick Google Nexus 7 review

Out of the 3 devices I use for Wardriving the Nexus 7 gets the best results. I use a Galaxy Nexus, HTC Droid Incredible, and a Nexus 7. The Galaxy Nexus gets the least amount of networks and the Nexus 7 gets the most.

I know on the 3 devices I use to wardrive with I have to open the app, tap menu, then tap start. What I wo...
