Re: Lost my old phone and hence my map

Go to the menu tab and click on Database and then select IMPORT OBSERVED. That will import all your AP logged and their location.

Re: 20 years ago...

Wow, how many sites have been around for 20 years!!! Great job guys. I've been uploading files since February of 2004 and will keep them coming in the future as well.

Thanks!!! 🤓

Re: Phoenix Arizona Stumblers

You will be amazed at how many new access points you will find. I drive the same route every day and I almost always find a few new ones every time. Don't let the map fool you, there are always new targets out there... It is a target rich environment!

:)

Welcome to the fun,

Re: Help needed - Wigle wifi for Android

You can go into your phones settings page and look for the applications manager. Scroll down to Wigle Wifi and tap on that line and it should come up and tell you what version you are running. I am running v1.58 here. I think I would try uninstalling and then re-installing it and see if that clears ...

Re: Questions questions everywhere . . .

When you get the webmap to your area you can save it as your default. It is up in the upper right hand corner of the menu. That should help a lot.

Keep stumbling.

Re: Menu

I'm only guessing, but I think you are referring to the Sort/Scan etc. menu... Jut hit the menu button (On my Samsun Galaxt S3 it is the lower left button on the phone.)

Hope that helps.

Re: #restorethe4th

No, I just find it ironic that you would compare logging points on a map without attempting to invade the users privacy ironic. Wigle.net has never promoted the illegal access of anyone's system, and is only logging information that is broadcast to open space for anyone that passes. One of the purpo...

Re: Dirt Cheap Wardriving Rig

I have no way to compare them to the Nexus as I have not had one. But lately I have not been having any issues with the Vortex and my AP's. Ad it is a LOT more sensitive than my Galaxy S3 for some reason. May have to look at how I have both of them setup with the Wigle app.

Re: Dirt Cheap Wardriving Rig

It is strange, both the Vortex and my now retired Galaxy S have the same issues uploading via wifi on several access points /i have between home and work. I can usually get them to upload if I reboot them. The Galaxy never had that issue when it was activated.

Re: Dirt Cheap Wardriving Rig

Are you getting any wifi access at all? How did you load wigle without google play? I'm getting lots of hits. What I did was to email the .apk files for witless and the current google play to the phone and installed them. I can now scan and download most times, but connecting to wick is hit or miss...

Re: Dirt Cheap Wardriving Rig

I received the Vortex and tyhe unlock worked fine. I am however having trouble getting the unit to communicate with any secure sites and the google market, no google play. I was able to get WigleWiFi to run, and it appears to be as sensitive as both my Galaxy S and my new Galaxy S III. I will figure...

Re: Dirt Cheap Wardriving Rig

Thanks for the great idea. My brother wardrives for me out in the wilds of Northwestern New Mexico and has wanted a 911 only cellphone in his car. This will give hum both, and will make iy much easier for him to upload his data once he is home, not to mention safer if he comes upon an accident (all ...

Re: Trails across map pointing to zero/zero lat/long

Some AP's actually move on a very regular basis. I actually logged the wifi signal of the AP's on both the Norwegian Spirit out of New Orleans to Mexico and the Norwegian EPIC out of Miami to St Marteen while on cruises last year. It did look funny to see the number of points it put up. I also logge...
