Rage,

There is no standard color code for serial cables. What counts is pin numbers. Knowing which pin at one end connects to which pin at the other end would help.
Fair enough, I'll put a multimeter to it tonight, and report back with pin #'s ;]

While I appreciate the marginally hostile responce, I wasn't asking if it's a NS bug. In fact, I was asking if anyone had encountered similar phenomenom in other software packages. If I wanted to ask if it was a NS problem, I likely would have done so @ the NS forums. I saw the same behaviour in kis...

The dot by it in NS turns red, and afterwords, very few nets are detected, if any, ...

magellan gps 31x mods....

if anyone's interested, and doesen't wanna pay the $50 for a magellan gps310 serial cable, here's a workaround (I forget if all serial cables use the same color wires inside, so this will be assuming that they do.) Instead of a normal serial cable, I used the cable from an old IBM serial mouse that ...

Well, I can answer that. Technically, it "averages" the coords. So if you get GPS data that's wrong (like when dstumbler unpatched uses the wrong GPS data format) and more people upload the correct data, the AP node will gradually move on the map closer to it's real location. Or that's ho...
