Re: Wigle csv format questions

That's all legit with the exception of the first entry - WigleWifi-1.4 is the CSV format version , not the app version, you probably want to leave that intact (so the parser will know you're using v. 1.4 of the CSV format). Mostly, this data is used for model-specific data corrections (if there's a ...

Re: Suggestion: NMEA support in the WiGLE CSV Format

I experienced such immense envy of everyone doing ipaq stumbling - I had a crappy handspring for development and all my stumbling was done with a bulky laptop, PCMCIA card, pigtail, antenna, and USB GPS module that was SO SLOW to get a fix and unreliable.

Re: Suggestion: NMEA support in the WiGLE CSV Format

when we started WiGLE one of our very first patches to a related project was for dachb0den's excellent "dstumbler" to help compensate for the fact that certain GPSes were reporting NMEA sentence GPS coordinates in packed " sexigesimal " instead of decimal minutes! ([D]DDMMSSss instead of [D]DDMMmmm....

Re: Suggestion: NMEA support in the WiGLE CSV Format

heh, this begs the question: on what architecture are you working where splitting the string into degrees and minutes, multiplying, and adding is prohibitive? ;)

Re: Upload files don't show new discovered wifi's only file info

We write the Android app and think it works pretty well. The trick is to avoid Android 9, which doesn't allow frequent scanning. A lot of users get great results with Kismet as well.

Re: Upload files don't show new discovered wifi's only file info

There's going to need to be an "interpolation" step where you estimate the location for each network (based on the last/next locations around it) and maybe decide you don't have a good enough location for some if you haven't seen them in a while; there isn't a straight-forward transformation of the ...

Re: Upload files don't show new discovered wifi's only file info

It looks like the Airradar files don't include position information, so those aren't something that can be converted. The CSV and .log files DO include position, but they appear to be a time-stream file that reports position updates and network observations in a sequential (non-integrated) format. A...

Re: Upload files don't show new discovered wifi's only file info

Our complete list of supported formats is listed in the uploads dialog on the site.
For CSV, the preferred format is detailed at:

Re: Set default button doesn't work

good catch - it was a regression during javascript cleanup - if you force-reload your javascript it should be fixed now.

Re: knowing which roads weren't scanned of a part of a map

The problem here is that we don't measure "negatives" - we don't know whether a road hasn't been covered (and don't want people uploading their routes for privacy reasons) or just doesn't have any signals near it. That being said, there are some proxies for this. in the app: turn on map tiles in the...

Re: Wigle Format for ESP32 WiFi Scan

no problem; our format is a little non-standard.
We wanted to prioritize readability and processing outside of our tool-chain. but we really did need just a little more metadata than a simple CSV could provide.

Re: Wigle Format for ESP32 WiFi Scan

it looks like you're missing the header row - our format is a little unusual in that we have a prefix row for device spec (your prefix row looks good) followed by a traditional CSV header row (that appears to be missing):

Re: Multi-Factor Authentication [2FA][MFA]

We're careful with security on the server-side, but from our perspective, there's very little "risk" associated with a WiGLE account. First of all: unless an attacker compromises your email, you'll remain able to restore your access and remove theirs, and can re-prove your identity to us. Secondly, ...
