Re: Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Wiglewifi...
I just started using the app yesterday. I love the sounds for networks, but I can't seem to find which one means what. I've heard a higher-pitched 'blip' as well as a lower one. Is one for "found network" and one for "found open network"?
Re: NEPA, Northeast & Central Pennsylvania
Long time absent! I was pondering wardriving as with my current job I now have a Samsung Galaxy Tab with wi-fi and GPS. I search for "wardriving" on the market, and much to my surprise there's a WiGLE app! Only been at it for two days, but I'll probably be submitting a LOT more data now, a...

Picking them up on the interstate a block away will make perfect circles based on when you first/last saw them. These circles will be pretty inaccurate as to each APs actual coverage. I understand what you are saying. Most of it I knew, but was kind of ignoring, figuring that the implementation wou...

Deprecated APs - processing?
What happens with old points that were found, but are no longer active? Do they get weeded out, or do they just sit forever?

FREE COM multiplexer software!
So I wanted to run multiple adapters to wardrive, but the only laptop I have with a serial port is Windows XP. This limits me to NetStumbler, which only supports one adapter at a time. I can run multiple copies of NetStumbler, yes, but only one gets the GPS feed. That's no good, so I went digging an...

Lots of Updates
So I did my first 'official' multi-card drive this morning - using Windows and netstumbler - WITH GPS ON ALL THREE INSTANCES OF NETSTUMBLER! I found a free virtual serial port emulator that split my COM1 GPS feed virtually on COM7. Set all instances of NS to COM7, and all three had co-ordinates! I w...
