Re: Google Pie and Wifi Wardriving
Google has throttled scan initiation in Android P - 4 scans/2 minute maximum. Feel free to "star" the issue to help raise awareness within Google. https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/79906367
This is really bad ...

Map Color

I love this site but I've one remark / request regarding the Google map on wigle.net Since some time the map is displayed in gray scales. For me this is not an improvement because it's much harder to distinguish between residential areas / roads and nature on the map. I'd vote to display the map in ...

Problem with end Date 2016 in Web Filter

First of all best wishes for 2015! I use the date range in the web filter to see which areas are interesting to visit (again). Unfortunately the filter seems to be broken with the end date set to 2016 (e.g range 2015-2016), this will reset the filter and show all networking from the beginning. Would...

Fliter on 2.4 / 5 GHz networks on Web Maps

A nice addition would be to filter on 2.4 or 5 GHz networks in Web Maps, this way I could determine which areas need to be scanned again for 5 GHz networks.

Don't know if the Wigle database can distinguish between 2.4 / 5 GHz networks but this would be a nice new option on Web Maps.

Re: Would an Alfa R36 w/ a AWUS036H work w/ Wigle Android ap

I've spent several hours today hitting my head against the wall trying to get a bunch of things configured without luck Any thoughts about this? You're on the right track, although it is possible to get an external Wifi adapter working on Android it can be very difficult and time consuming. I'd sug...

Re: Rasberry Pi

thwiggle - by 100% gain in comparison to Android, do you mean that you're seeing double the APs? Also, what is the blue-ish Alfa Wifi "N" adapter you're running, and what are the advantages to running it? thwiggle - I'd like to hear more details about how you've configured your Raspberry ...

Re: Rasberry Pi

I use a Raspberry Pi with my "discrete" setup (Raspberry Pi, Alfa USB adapter, 12000 mAH batter pack, BU-353 GPS, 7dB magnetic mount mobile antenna)... It runs Kali Linux and works well. I just put a few instructions into /etc/rc.local to initiate gpsd, airmon and kismet server. My new wa...

Android Statistics not updated?

After purchasing a new Android phone (My old HTC Desire dropped in the toilet while dangling on the head-phone cord) I was interested in the 'Android Statistics' page to see if my new phone showed up. Although I did some uploads with my new phone (HTC One S) I didn't see any status changes on the an...

Start month & end month in web maps

As my neighborhood is frequently visited by others it would be a great addition if on the web maps filer an option ‘start month’ & ‘end month’ bedside the start & end year could be added. With January & December selected as default start & end month it would have no impact on the cur...

Re: RC Aircraft Wardriving: Warflying?

One solution I see is to fly directly over the hot spots, instead of drive beside them. In the past I’ve been thinking about using a blimp with an android Phone as payload to control it via the camera and cellular network, and to do the Wifi scanning. An advantage of using a blimp instead of a RC p...
