I was basing this question, mostly on seeing my own uploads. For example, yesterday I uploaded some logs. The column for New Networks Discovered with GPS is one number, and in the column for Total New Discovered Networks _often_ is the same number, but occasionally is higher, leading me to think th...

odd plotting question...

I took a ferry ride while stumbling and the ferry had an onboard encrypted AP. The ferry company runs 3 ships over this crossing, and I picked up the AP's on those as we passed along the way. This link has the points in question.

Re: How can we improve GPS performance?

Looking at the stats, I see that everyone else has (like me) many networks discovered that we didn't have GPS info for. I always thought the 'total networks' was a count of all the different networks the wardriver has logged, and one (major) reason of networks logged but not seen as new ones is tha...

Currently using a Earthmate LT20 usb gps - unhappy

I must say that I miss my old weatherproof Garmin GPS35 it wasnt WAAS but it was a mag mount with a 30 second persistance that help reduce the drops. This LT20 looses signal every time that my laptop changes power modes. even if I simply go from AC to battery. It claims that it supports WAAS but Ive...

Staples stores have public wifi

It isn't listed anywhere online, but all of the stores now have WiFi, not just the ones in Chicago. Staples hasn't figured out how to make a flat list. So finding stores is a matter of knowing there is a store in an area, or using a phoneook once you get there. The DB currently lists 265 locations t...

keep up the good work...

The web updates hamster needs a poke. Wigle transaction update 20070923-00097 contains 442 new points which were not plotted. There are other transactions not reporting, but I figure fixing one will probably fix them all. Nothing shows plotted on the web map for "only by me" search for that area. th...

yes you can

YoEleven: no, you cannot.
That isn't true, If you want, you can remove the cover on the wifi card and replace it with the cover from modem card. Might void the warranty, but who cares, its not like 14.4 modems are good for anything.

Looks like the world and Europe maps need to be re-genned as well, or maybe just their front page thumbs.

Of course, like anything so much to do and only so many hampsters. I would suggest rabbits but it is harder getting useful work out of those because all they do is re-produce.
