Re: New WiGLE map´s uploaded to Wikimedia? (current ones are from 2007)

here we go - globe image generation resurrected in a new and far more efficient form! https://wigle.net/images/wigle-world.png should update automatically every day. The coastlines and grids are generated using Flex Projector ( http://www.flexprojector.com/ ), so if people have suggestions for tweak...

Re: New WiGLE map´s uploaded to Wikimedia? (current ones are from 2007)

We're looking into restoring this functionality, but it will probably take us a little while to arrange this - any interim solutions are ok by us!

Re: New WiGLE map´s uploaded to Wikimedia? (current ones are from 2007)

Quick question: is anyone aware of a high-quality "Web Mercator" projection SVG world map we could use in building a rasterized nightly map replacement? We'd like to use the same projection system as the existing maps for simplicity of rendering. Cheers -ark EDIT: free-to use, non-commercial, so the...

Re: New WiGLE map´s uploaded to Wikimedia? (current ones are from 2007)

we're aware that Wikimedia isn't super fond of the logo-inclusion - that many "WiGLE.NET"s might run afoul of the policy.

Re: Android Pie and WiGLE - news articles about scan-throttling

the position and signal strength get registered at the time the scan completes. It won't be "wrong" just far less complete than frequent scanning would provide.

Re: New WiGLE map´s uploaded to Wikimedia? (current ones are from 2007)

The problem here is that the whole code line that made these nightly "overview" maps has been removed from production; we don't have to generate our own world maps or Geo tiles anymore (other people do that really well), and our new overlay generator isn't plugged into any whole-world context at tha...

give it another shot!

We've been doing some maintenance and our search cluster is a finicky beast.

Re: is there any reason to upload more than the legacy 2016 kismet .nettxt?

Kismet R1 dropped yesterday (go Dragorn!)- similar issues with the full release?

Re: kml_filter.py

on-site KML export has been updated, as has the kml_filter script to bring it into alignment with client export. We'll update client KML export further in the next release in order to include encryption status as well as BT and Cell export. They'll still contain some disparate fields - there are ele...

KML fixes and improvements

Original KML didn't contain Bluetooth and Cellular data, and users have pointed out that we've had two incompatible KML export formats in WiGLE WiFi Wardriving's "Database" tool and everywhere else. The server side (upload page and Wifi Wardriving uploads) KML export is now enhanced! While this will...

Re: kml_filter.py

Without being to produce the exact circumstances, I'd recommend using the SQLite or CSV files locally, or the query API online for your purposes; the KML files are intended for visualization rather definitive database-like access, and it's possible that they failed to capture the status of this netw...

Re: kml_filter.py

1.) the lack of any of those other encryption indicators is the "unencrypted" status. I can't urge you strongly enough to work with the CSV rather than the KML, since the KML just a quick visualization hack on top of the CSV data, and isn't structured for database-style access (the info is just shov...

Re: kml_filter.py

awesome - we actually should evaluate the differences between the formats - these grew organically, but there probably isn't a great reason for the difference.

Cheers,
