Dead zones

Can the dead zones be defined publically somewhere? It might be interesting to some of us.

Sharper Concepts = Hyperlink

I agree, sharper concepts is great. They're a hyperlink reseller, but you get the same price without the minimum $100 order.

Ahhh

Should you pull the full 1750 watts on that inverter, you will be drawing 146 amps @ 12v. Lol. Obviously you're not going to need that much power. You can safely pull 95 amps through 4 guage. I installed my 400watt inverter in the dash where my ash tray used to be, and ran a wire direct to the batte...

Nothing stable but....

Well obviously nothing is stable or guaranteed to last, or guaranteed at all, but hang out in the chat room, #wigle @ irc.wigle.net. uhtu and bobzilla are pretty good about mentioning when the world will end in there.

Make a map

WiGLE will return data anywhere in the world. If you want to plot on the blank map, then you need to change it's bounding coordinates to something other than 0's. Just open up the .mappack file with your favorite text editor, read the mapmaking guide found elsewhere on the forum, and change the coor...

Another way.....

Use the <shamelessplug>Musatcha.com Advanced WiFi Mapping Engine</shamelessplug> and load the map using a "Split Query". It'll download the data for wherever in chunks to be sure you get everything.

I'll do it!

I'll take you up on that offer bobzilla, if it's still on the table. I've been looking for the best way to tackle this issue for a long time, and I'm curious if you've already got a better idea on how to go about it than I do. If you don't wanna post it, can you e-mail it to brad@musatcha.com?

Car version

I was selling my old wardriving vehicle complete with gear awhile back. I ended up trading it at a dealership (after I gutted it of course), but here's what you could have got for $4,000:

Also, is there any way for anyone to find out that I hopped on their network? when i installed xp pro, i did not put in my name anywhere, just named the laptop something random There is no need for you to be using other people's networks. You obviously have your own connection at your disposal. Usi...

The problem with having a map of all networks found by a user is that it is disclosing who found what, and currently you can only check whether you found it or not when you're logged in.

Yet More Screenshots

Here's a screenshot of the DOQ download thing. Also works with the DRG topo maps, and color DOQs. http://www.musatcha.com/computers/software/wifimapping/screenshot5.jpg Also, exporting a full sized map image works now. You can check that out here: http://www.musatcha.com/computers/software/wifimappi...

Re: Already on it

Yep, that's what I've been hackin' away at, converting it to VB function by function, lol. Slow process but maybe one of these days I'll get it done. Hey Mentat, you wouldn't by chance know how to fix the offset would you? Seems that the USGS is using a different North reference or something. Which...

Puke on spoofing

I've got nothing to hide, if I spit out a packet, anybody that wants it can have it. I use kismet most of the time though so it doesn't matter.

Woot for Dumpster Diving!

That's awesome! I had a friend that picked up a massive 6' tv from a bar that was throwing it out 'cause they thought it was broke. Thing worked fine when he got it in his apartment. Every computer I own (except for theones I got for $5) were free from people throwing them out. :D
