Re: kiss

I have always wondered why submitted data isn't digitally signed so that it may not be tampered or generated programmatically which all the logging currently allows for. Sure people would be able to tinker with obscure patching to bypass this type of security, but most users would leave them by def...

Re: kiss

that something is improbable dosen't make it impossible. that something was only seen once dosen't mean it wasn't seen. its just not always a nice and reproduceable observation like Good Science^sm would like. As I noted in my email to wigle-admin, it really looks like someone went driving down the...

If you load those areas into digle and then drop the Qos 1 notch, you'll find they all go away, except a small hand full in the urban areas and a dozen or less on the rural road. True, but unless we go back and resniff the same area a second time, most all the stuff that is found brand new will hav...

A deeper issue is that without those users logging in and authorizing a map made using their points, it does leak information about where they've been.
Wouldn't bother me, I've found APs on four of the seven continents. ;)

Hmmm, I think I fixed that one. What version are you using?
0.3.184, downloaded this morning.

EDIT:
Coords I'm looking up are:

MinLat: 33.85
MaxLat: 33.96
MinLon: -118.34
MaxLon: -118.46

Downloads about 7600 APs then craters.

Re: Another way.....

Use the <shamelessplug>Musatcha.com Advanced WiFi Mapping Engine</shamelessplug> and load the map using a "Split Query". It'll download the data for wherever in chunks to be sure you get everything.

DiGLE 60K AP limit?

Several of us seem to have discovered a limit upon DiGLE of around 60K APs downloaded when fetching from the database. Take any given dense county (Harris Cty, TX, Los Angeles Cty, CA) and fetch from WiGLE, and only 60K APs will load. Closing and restarting and performing another fetch still only ge...

It should just be tilda delimited and in the same order.
Tilde delimited, yes. Same order, no. I have an updated version that does work, forgot the exact specifics off the top of my head, I'm sitting in an airport at the moment. You want a copy to your email?

Ok, I get to eat crow.

This script does NOT work on the cache files that are downloaded by the DiGLE client. Apparently the file format syntax is different.

Got a bug report.... In Kismet, if the AP is running with broadcast SSID turned off, and if it doesn't discover the SSID through association response, the logged ssid is "<no ssid>". When processed through the script, the kml file contains the line: <coordinates><no ssid>,00:0B:FD:B8:11:13...

Re: Colorado War Drivers

I have noticed a lot of people have entered data for the Denver area and we don't even have a forum topic, so I thought I would start one. I have also noticed that there are some fellow war drivers here in Parker. I just thought that we should share our experiences and could think about where we ha...

Ok, I'm confirmed, going to be in Central and Southern Germany 17th until 24th May. I won't be as well equipped for sniffing, but I'll see what I can do. :)
