you loose your 3d lock? Complete loss of any lock. I found out later that the cable between laptop keyboardconnector (for power) and gps unit (a rikaline 6010-x5) is a bit worn, and what happens is that the power interrupts and the gps resets itself completely. As a temporary fix I have an extra bi...

Leaves on trees ... less new networks with GPS!

The last week or so, I'm noticing new networks found without GPS location (usually one or two in a 30-40 minute stumble). The leaves on the trees? We did have rainshowers a few weeks ago, so everything is green now. The rain kept me from wardriving a few times (as I do it on a pushbike), but now it'...

Re: Non United States MapPacks or MapTrees - Read this!

One note: the data for my country (the Netherlands) seems to have gone from 'major cities, railway lines, major roads' to 'it has provinces'. On the map for my city, url http://www.wigle.net/gps/gps/Map/onlinemap/?lat1=52.0441611328125&lat2=52.14246020507812&long1=5.055029296875&long2=5....

Re: deriving total WiFi networks from wigle reported ?

1st: I'm not speaking for wigle, they can do that themselves. 1. Is there a way to find the actual population of detected spots per country, I couldnt find 'that in your stats section. It's quite some calculating to derive the country from the coordinates. You need the coastline database to find whe...

German situation

Disclaimers: I'm not from Germany (but the neighbours to the west, the Netherlands) and I am not a lawyer. The European "Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms" (also known as "The treaty of Rome) says in article 10: Everyone has the right to freedom of...

Re: WiGLE: the reskinning!

OK, so after using the same site for years, we decided to clean up the layout, add some glitz
In between uploading a file and viewing the forum, the site is suddenly all new and improved!

Hey, really looks great. A really unique style, and that is a good thing!

You can download the interview I had a look: good work. Not too much sensation, just clear explanation (It's in Flemish/Dutch so I can follow it) For those who want an idea of what the throat noises mean: - It starts with "lots of people install wireless networks now but forget to secure them&...

Re: oddly enough...

...we've been thinking exactly the same thing. you would've had it a week ago if i could type, and had more than 10 seconds to myself. Ah, the famous 'round tuit', hard to find! http://wigle.net/gps/gps/StatRSS/wiglestats.xml posted in hopes of getting some feedback on the format. it seems "co...

Warbiking

Another aspect of warbiking is the added dimension it adds to an otherwise average bike ride. Yes! I've learned a lot more new small streets in my city since I started actively warbiking there. For the car I still might get them...but for now...watch out for the guy with the blinking green light on...

Wardriving and delivery job?

Anyhow, here's a pic of the new inverter in the back seat of my REALLY messy car. I just got home from delivering pizza (and wardriving at the same time) Are there more wardrivers combining this with a job that will take them on all the roads in a city? Delivery work in urban areas sounds like one ...

Re: Dutch Wardrivers?

Are there some dutch wardrivers here?
Yes. Wardriving the Dutch way usually: by bike! Works a lot better in the city where I live (Utrecht).

I upload my logs both to wigle and wardrivemap.nl. Wigle has better statistics and wardrivemap.nl has a better map. Helps me find the white spots!
