Network up

The cable modem had to be manually reset, so WiGLE.net was unaccessible for much of today. Yes, we're still working on getting colo machine together/sent...

More exact?

Do you have more exact boundary coords? If not i can figure it out by playing with with the numbers, but if you can save me the effort that would be happy. :)

Regenerated, seem ok now

I've regenerated these MapPacks, they seem ok now. I added some code to retry the RiGLE generation if the .mappack file is 0 bytes, hopefully that'll prevent this in the future (the java vm crashes sometimes playing with these large amounts of data).

which mappacks?

That sounds like it's running into problems parsing the mappack properties file, so the generated mappack might not be happy. Could you tell me which mappacks you have downloaded? In the mean time i'll start looking for ones that might be bad. Should probably make the parser less brittle as well.

Nice, but true?

Seems like every once in a while BAWUG goes back an forth about this. I personally don't think it is, but i wonder what the law-talkin folks have to say. We should have cornered the EFF lawyer at defcon...

Faster Stats

I've pulled the stats into their own table. They are now updated when you upload a file or add a station via the web interface. This makes the stats page load a *lot* faster.

parser

It should, it just splits on network and regex's out the pieces it needs.

Recovering data

I'm working on recovering as much data as I can from the corrupted db files. The server seems to be happy right now so it must have been something to do with the swap partitions and/or the disks they were on. Sorry for the downtime!

stickers n' lappys

I put a WiGLE.net sticker next to a pikachu sticker on my work T20. Peeling it off will be someone elses problem once i'm gone. :)

A friend got an X23, it's like a T20 just tinier, and his has built-in 802.11b. Very sexy. Don't think you can get either for too cheap tho. :(

files

You could always concatenate all the files together, but that can get dangerous since http uploads aren't the most stable of data transports. :)

faster stats

The stats have gotten a lot faster... :) Another *iGLE guy and I worked on speeding it up. It'll still fall over with increasing traffic, i'm pry going to pull that data to a seperate table and update it when things change rather than doing all the queries to pull that data together every hit.

Strange java VM error

lately i've been seeing the java process that generates the mappacks has been crashing with VM errors. I've tried doing different things to try to make it stop doing that, but haven't been successful. I've filed a bug on sun's java bug parade, and i'll continue trying to find something that makes it...
