You should get one of those onboard generators used to illuminate bicycle headlights. No batteries needed! :P
Yeah, but then when you stop pedalling, the gear all shuts down and you have to set it up again, while riding :)

Hmmm. Perhaps you could mount an antenna on it?

My other stumbling machine is a G3 Pismo - it also has a media bay near the PCMCIA slot, if you put the battery in the right bay. However, I keep two batteries in it - 12 hours of battery life is nice!

That's pretty cool. 8 radios focused on one AP for wep cracking is nasty...

How much power does that thing draw though? Two 1W amplifiers and a 1.5GHZ board, as well as 8 wireless cards... methinks a lot.

New Toys :D

Two R100 accesspoints. These are rebranded ASUS Wl-500G units. Like a WRT54G, but with USB and parallel ports. Runs OpenWRT. I've got one connected to a flash drive and GPS, set to log in kismet from the moment at which it starts up - could be fun. Now all I need is a battery pack... Cool? Anyone el...

It happens when people drive around with laptops and tap into your wireless computer network to steal your service.
MSNBC, knowing nothing about the issue, as usual :)

It's a 144k Netstumbler file, exported from KisMac. It looks OK in TextEdit.

Is there anything going on with the server?

A big 16dbi or 19dbi dish antenna will work very well, mounted on your roof.

Passive mode should work if you enable "persistant" airport extreme support. Try following the steps here if you haven't already - https://trac.kismac.de/wiki/Troubleshooting%20AirPort%20Extreme However, the card, for some reason, won't pick up anything but beacon frames... fine for wardri...

And at the moment, I'm planning to make a self-contained WRT54G kismet drone with GPS, that logs to a SD card. Or maybe we should just get a WRAP? Hmmm.

Ok, I've got a new category for you. Somebody come up with a name for it. You work on the stumbler you are using, as you use it to stumble (yeah, I was coding parts of my GPS info window while stumbling. Hopefully, you are not driving while doing this. And another one: You actually bought another la...

I'm doing Adelaide. And I've actually done a fair chunk of what's already there, according to my number of new nets, and the "First discovered by me"
checkbox

There's not that many APs here unfortunately, it seems. :(

Bah! The N.S. has too many people already compared to the others. Besides I haven't ran Netstumbler in awhile and would feel odd gathering #'s for them with Kismet. I think a few people from the Netstumbler group have been finding a fair few APs named "<hidden ssid>" - I was looking at on...

Shame. The AP isn't that heavy is it?

A small model helicopter would be nice though.

Noise from engine/remote - not going to interfere - probably will produce nothing in the 2.4GHZ band...
