Re: Map Color

First version of the UI implemented - let me know what you think, what else you'd like to see/change!

Re: WiGLE for Android 7.0 issues

quite unusual.

Two more random ideas:
- If you try manually uploading the CSV file mentioned in the error message above (via the website), does it succeed?
- is your system date/time accurate?

Re: WiGLE for Android 7.0 issues

hm, this is really tough. One thought - is there a chance you denied local FS permissions (" Storage: allow WiGLE to access your photos, documents... ") to WiGLE on first start after upgrade? You can check via Settings -> Apps -> WiGLE WiFi Wardriving -> Permissions - and make sure the &qu...

Re: Can't search ssid

Hi DrScan - the SSID search seems to be working in general - can you describe any non alphanumeric characters your search might contain?

Cheers, and thanks for your interest,

Re: Map Color

Hi - we're still wiring this into UI and preferences - but if you add on of &mapstyle=grey , &mapstyle=night , or &mapstyle=standard (original google maps flavor) to the map and basic search URLs (followed by <enter>), you'll be able to load the pages in the style that suits your current...

Re: WiGLE for Android 7.0 issues

that one looks to be an older error - related to the v2.18 release encrypting credentials. My guess here is that you've caught a corner case that the CSV encoder library doesn't handle well (double commas, or some weird quote-comma situation in a SSID?), but I wonder what it is. How many APs are in ...

Re: WiGLE for Android 7.0 issues

Re: Wigle page deleted from Wikipedia?!

hah! fair-enough on their part. anyway, thank you for the heads-up and the non-solicited support. ;)

It's a good reminder for the WiGLE team to keep things up-to-date, too (those stats had gotten CRUFTY)

Re: Wigle page deleted from Wikipedia?!

Updated a few numbers and references - what else should go there to help with relevance?

maybe:
how the signal weighted centroid trilateration works? (how we position the APs)
submission history (mobile was the big elbow in the graph)
what people use the data for?

Re: Wigle page deleted from Wikipedia?!

oop, apparently: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia ... eletion#G8 was the reason - without access to the page, I'm not sure what the broken link might've been.

EDIT: looks like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WiGLE is still accessible - it seems to be a linking thing?

Re: Wigle page deleted from Wikipedia?!

I saw it had been marked as not-relevant. I was rather surprised, actually, but I don't really know the editorial guidelines. Anyone familiar?

Re: Cellular searching using LG Verizon service

hi ncfriend!

Are you asking about the android app or the website?

Website: maps - GSM or CDMA
App: make your cell radio is on, it should just show up, unless the API is disabled on your device (check your app permissions just in case)

Re: Map Color

This is precisely the discussion we've had internally about the change. The black-and-white was meant to make the data more visible, but there are some practical problems with it, especially for certain tasks (like the one you've mentioned - finding streets gets more difficult as well). A user setti...
