Re: Nexus 4 and [ESS] tag

Can anyone with a Nexus 4 4.3 confirm it?
Maybe is a configuration thing?
Or, even maybe, a 4.3 update thing.

Nexus 4 and [ESS] tag

I noticed that on the Nexus 4, every network is tagged with [ESS] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Service_set_(802.11_network)#Extended_service_set Even the "wide open" ones. On my old GT-5510, the networks weren't [ESS] tagged. I also noticed that even "cloaked" (null ssid) network...

Re: android app: reports hidden networks?

Hidden SSID gives a false security sensation, but in fact are less secure than broadcast ssid.

Wigle uses android API for detecting networks. It doesn't probe for them, it just listens and scans the visible networks. That means it will not record hidden SSID networks.

Re: Map Packs for android?

Wigle android use osmdroid for the maps.
Maybe you could install the app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... g.osmdroid) and browse the city in it on wifi, so it can cache on sd card.

Re: Old uploads apparently missing from export

I'm having the same problem. I lost the files on the sdcard. I "imported" my networks, but it only imports the BSSID and location, nothing more. Can't export on CSV And the KML doesn't have name or capabilities. I deleted again, because it would be more useful nothing at all (and start ove...

Re: Wigle Wifi for Android: Suggestions

Android client new option: Purge local database Add an option on the Android client to purge local database, so it keeps only, lets say, the best 10 locations (or the last 10) of each network. It takes each day more time to load the app and load the databases. It appears that I will need to reset th...

Re: Wigle Wifi for Android: Suggestions

Why get rid of anonymous?
Or try to triangulate anonymous? That breaks the whole reason of not entering information and being anonymous.

Re: Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Wiglewifi...

How does webmaps determine the SSID of a BSSID? For example: I have an access point with SSID of "X". A few days later, I change the SSID to "Y", on the same access point. What name will be displayed on the webmaps? First Seen ("X), Last Seen("Y"), or the name with...

Multiple Observations on webmap

I have an suggestion that might interest others as well. "Show Multiple Observations" on webmap. The option is self explanatory. It shows on webmap multiple obervarions of the same AP, SSID, etc. This should be useful when searching for hot-spots of a specific network. The option should be...

Re: Wigle Wifi for Android: Suggestions

I found a solution...sort of...I set Options only the "Play sound when new network in DB" as the only audible feedback. When I'm on a busy street and not hearing beeps when I should be, I know I've been there recently. That has helped me move to a different area many times. Great suggesti...

Well, so I'm posting here, if you can, forward this to wigle admins. Good Evening, I made a Portuguese Brasil (Português Brasileiro) translation, of both the app,...
