ccie4526 most likely got it.

Unique networks with location: 14,003,447 The last three uploaders after ccie4526 only have a combined total of 1131 new gps for the month. Of course if ccie4526 did less than 2316 new for his last post, it could be any of the three other people, but that doesn't seem normal for him. The other three...

How to stop Jigle from displaying raster map in pull list?

I launch Digle from inside of my Jigle directory so they can share the downloaded point data. Digle uses the raster maps, so only can see that map type when launched. However, Jigle currently uses either format, so every county shows twice in the map pick list. Even though it takes longer to display...

If the card you're thinking of is the card I'm thinking of (Senao 2511), I've gotten it to do WPA in software with wpa_supplicant. I have a rebadge of that card as one of my options. I have not tried wpa_supplicant while scanning, not much point since I'm not trying to attach to the APs I see. That...

Heck the local FM is probably pushing 50KW. As for finding the hams, in addition to looking for a club, probably the best way is to track down the section chief though the ARRL (American Radio Relay League) who covers your area. He will have a good idea of what clubs are in the area even the ones no...

What you really want to show is that your average microwave oven puts out more RF hash than any single AP. The commercial ones are worse. They all operate on the same band as wifi. http://www.metageek.net/products/wi-spy_24x Then show them the bandplan chart from the FCC showing all of the frequency...

I think you are not going to get much, recognizing WEP vs WPA would require two things to be true to get that piece of data. First the software used would have to support it, and I imagine that lots of people uploading are still using NS, which can not tell the difference. The other factor is if the...

Let me know when you plan to meet, I may be able to make it into town. I picked up a few hundred AP's with my last visit. I'd make a recomendation for the residential district east of where 190 crosses NFB in NFalls, It has a dense area and the streets are regular. easy to cross drive. kinda like th...

I'm looking for PCI cards that take multiple of miniPCI cards. This is a Dell Lattitude C610 in a C-Dock-II. The docking station has 2 real 32bit PCI slots. You know the white ones like in a desktop? So if I can get multiple radios in that way, and then have one in the notebook, and then whatever I ...

Excellent idea, thanks. When I am dropping GPS, the ones I miss are indeed adjacent. I do more driving on highways than I do slowly, and I know I am missing a lot anyway. I need to get the second card/antenna combo working again with Kismet. Driving slower will help though. Depending on AP density,...

I was basing this question, mostly on seeing my own uploads. For example, yesterday I uploaded some logs. The column for New Networks Discovered with GPS is one number, and in the column for Total New Discovered Networks _often_ is the same number, but occasionally is higher, leading me to think th...

if you are looking for a very basic gpsd for windows, search for posts from Musatcha. he wrote one to interface with Jigle. part of it is a script to run with netstumbler. which you indicate you are still using.

odd plotting question...

I took a ferry ride while stumbling and the ferry had an onboard encrypted AP. The ferry company runs 3 ships over this crossing, and I picked up the AP's on those as we passed along the way. This link has the points in question. http://wigle.net/gps/gps/Map/onlinemap2/?lat1=44.68755157470703&la...
