Re: Too many queries

clicking on the map to find the nearest AP is a search - so you've done more than 20.
You also registered a second account which resulted in both limits being permanently reduced.

Re: WiGLE WiFi Wardriving app unable to export .gpx files from saved routes

I think we've got a line on this one - it's fixed in github, but not in a released yet - watch for 2.85 for a fix!

Thanks for the heads-up

Re: WiGLE WiFi Wardriving app unable to export .gpx files from saved routes

Interesting - A couple of questions: - are you using the FOSS branch or a custom build? - Does a transient "toast" error message appear if you keep watching the screen? - How long a route are you trying to export (number of points shown after the route entry in the list) / how long does it...

Re: ? On how to %wild card can be used in search feature

ok, on what specific page or using what particular tool are you trying this?
The only two wildcard characters are

"%" - "one or more"

and

"_" - "one and just one"

anything else gets interpreted literally.

Re: Reminder: Query Limits and responsible use

for a start, don't register multiple accounts - that will get you flagged permanently.

Re: Too many queries

We've un-flagged your account several times, only to have the system re-flag it. As you know, we're very careful about user privacy, so diagnosing this is complicated.

Re: ? On how to %wild card can be used in search feature

It should work - in what context are you trying to use it?

Re: Map not working (blank screen in android app)

So... you registered a new account today... to tell us that our app and site don't work. Just like the previous poster, you complained that "it doesn't work" without explaining what doesn't work, how you're trying to use it, or what you're expecting to happen. This is a community project, ...

Re: here is an Wi-Fi throttle fix for Android 9 users (non root or rooted)

Since you're on Android 9 (and without installing Lineage/etc, there's nothing further official for that phone), ADB is the only thing that might work. I'll also note (and this is a pain and not sustainable for casual detection) that since that device CAN do "split screen" you can work aro...

Re: Google update bug?

The fix is in the beta channel now - it takes a few days for us to get enough feedback to start "promoting" a release into public distribution (this is a great example of a problem that never manifested in the beta channel; probably no-one with an Android 7 device is in the beta group/test...

Re: Google update bug?

found it - isolated to android 7/7.1, and old library got bumped and broke things on our oldest devices supported. Fix forthcoming shortly.

Re: Email verification changes

no-one will lose their account - not to worry.
This is just an added test for new accounts.

Re: Google update bug?

shoot - there's been a drum-beat of forced upgrades that google has implemented over the last two years, suspect this is something to do with that. Watch this space, and sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Identifying geographically mobile APs

We do what's call "cluster trilateration" - we choose the place we think it's most likely an address is and estimate position there, when there have been multiple observations of a beacon in different locations. It's very likely that either the actual equipment moved, or that someone re-us...
