wigle goo

we're looking into getting a wigle channel or something together, as our usual hangout on #hardcoreanimefreaks@irc.sadelfpr0n.com wouldn't appreciate all the wigle traffic.

if it works out, will advise.

overstatements

heh. i may have slightly misrepresented the size and scope of the WiGLE dev organization, as i'm prone to hyperbole. the core wigle team is based here in sunny chicago, with our west coast development group out in california working tirelessly on SquiGLE and TinGLE and other exciting new ways to use...

tiling

tiling has been discussed for some time now... at the last WiGLE developer conference, the keynote was about the various strategies for dealing with the scaling up of data in the multiple WiGLE.net clients. we are investigating a couple of different paths, possibly including a vector client similar ...

once more, with feeling

okay. updated netstumbler wi-scan parser is in place (apparently my kismac patch wasn't 100% complete).
can you try just one file again? (sorry to be such a pain, it Really Should Work this time :-)
thanks for your patience.

kismac 0.06a NS export

there is a bug in the kismac NS export, which is why wigle won't accept the files produced. i've submitted a patch to the maintainer. if you build kismac from source, i can make that patch available to you as well.

.kismac

thanks for the sample data! okay. the .kismac files are definitely the NSKeyedArchiver format. this is good and bad. it means that the file can easily be read on a os x 10.2 and up machine, and that we can't parse it on the WiGLE box (not a mac) until apple releases specs on that encoding, or we can...

error

you may want to check your kismac version, all the KisMAC generated netstumbler-style wi-scan files posted today have two longitudes: lat lon lon
those will not parse correctly :-)
