Re: Windows Phone 8

so i've been digging through the msdn on wp8, and i've been unable to find a moral equivalent of WlanGetNetworkBssList.
everything that sounds even close has a big "This API is not implemented and will throw an exception if called." disclaimer.

taking a page from ios on that one, apparently. bleah.

Re: Incorrect location for some networks

"it depends" alot of it comes down to how the networks were observed, by whom and when. repeated observation will correct a network over time, but if (say) your gps is broken and it always reports you in downtown Nutley, NJ: the networks are unlikey to relocate where you think they should be. if you...

Re: Should I see ALL AP's when I look for my own?

yes, but you'll probably want to clear the "filter by ssid" and "bssid" boxes and then click "Update"

Re: Finding the AP closest to a point

Re: Why some wifi are in the middle of the water ??

bad gps is bad.
bad stumbling clients are bad.
and every so often: bad wigle is bad.

and some of the time that data is from airplanes/boats/hovercrafts-full-of-eels (which have wifi. the vehicles, not the eels)

there have been many other projects come and go over the years.
