Re: Rasberry Pi

Picked one of these up (at $35 I couldn't resist) but I haven't gotten around to setting it up yet.

Re: A quick Google Nexus 7 review

Just picked one of these up. The GPS should be very useful for navigating. The screen is much easier to read than my RAZR's. Tried to set up the RAZR as a bluetooth IP hotspot to keep the Nexus's maps up to date but had problems. I think it was because the Nexus was downloading a system software upd...

Re: U.S. DoD Secure Modem

Doesn't mean a thing. I can give my own AP the same name in about 5 seconds. It's a joke.

If it was a DoD AP, actually naming it that is like putting up a neon sign saying "Hack Me!"

Cyanogenmod 10 & Wigle Wifi

So I side-loaded Cyanogenmod 10 on my Razr Maxx. Why? Because Verizon doesn't want me to, that's why. Cyanogenmod generally performs better than stock roms, and I was expecting the same results while running wigle. This turned out not to be the case. On the same run on the same phone, Cyanogenmod 10...

How curious. The ones I've found have invalid MAC addresses and are always in larger towns.

Re: Dirt Cheap Wardriving Rig

PS: Battery life on the Vortex is not bad either. I had it on about 9.5 hours running wigle the whole time and still had 20% power left at the end...and the battery is replaceable.

Dirt Cheap Wardriving Rig

What is the minimum one can spend on a useful wardriving rig? Having someone give you the components for free or dumpster diving for parts is left as an exercise for the diligent reader. I myself recently used the following method: Basically, you need a computer with wifi and GPS capabilities that c...

firsttime & lasttime reversals in wigle DB

Am I not understanding the "firsttime" and "lasttime" fields in the wigle database? I assume that "firsttime" is the first time the AP is seen, and "lasttime" is the last time the AP was seen, yet when I look at some of the APs I've uploaded, lasttime is earli...

Re: Flawed data uploaded recently due to GPS errors.

Scale out on the map and you will find lines of APs in the oceans.
