Re: Nexus 4 and [ESS] tag

i've seen several networks without the [ESS] tag recently, so it isn't all of them that are being populated that way.

Re: Nexus 4 and [ESS] tag

both my nexus 7s (2012 and 2013) on android 4.3 do this.
that should just be passed directly from wpa_supplicant, so i'd be surprised for it to be device specific,
but that's a very interesting note.

Re: Geographic Stats

"unreliably and experimentally" would be what I'd reach for. those are old data, and from the looks of it probably not accurate even when they were fresh.

Re: Laptop recommendations for Warwalking?

an atom-based netbook would be where i'd be looking if i were to go back to that setup
from the much easier to handle android
(i used to run my sony vaio in a hacked-together rig to keep it ventilated while in my
backpack while stumbling back in '01)

Re: Visualizing the increase in Wi-Fi APs over time

for a totally different output, you need to look at different columns :-)
lastupdt has what you're looking for there.

Re: Visualizing the increase in Wi-Fi APs over time

very few things are static in the universe, consider also the lasttime column.
how would you know if an unobserved AP was no longer there, and why would you even consider the question?

Re: Visualizing the increase in Wi-Fi APs over time

1. the "firsttime" column on the query results page
2. if an event is unobserved, did it occur? a sufficiently puissant researcher might back out MAC allocation timelines, but that is a bit silly.

Re: No personal statistics

How are you posting your data? the usual cause in cases like this is not being logged in.
Also, check the "Uploads" link, if you don't see your files there, try and get some details together
and send them to wigle-admin@ wigle.net and we'll try and have a look.

Re: #restorethe4th

it is important to understand the scope and application of the bill of rights: they are restrictions on the government. "Congress shall make no law"
we are and have always been staunch privacy supporters;
use cryptography to help protect your communications, people.

Re: Is There A Way To Only Show The Networks You Have Found?

not currently, no.
First Discovered By Me will only show those you were the first to discover.
the thing you're asking for is a Much Harder Problem, but a very interesting one, we'll add it to the "if we can figure out how" list!
