API query for SSIDs with special characters

Hello!
I am trying to get statistics on SSIDs containing special characters. I see SSIDs on the map view (exclusively?) contain characters within the printable ASCII character range. Is there a way to use the API query SSIDs containing characters outside of this range? Some examples are emojis, japanese characters, etc. I was unable to get results using the API. Thanks!

I'm wondering too, as i see that the non-ASCII SSIDs i collect turned into question marks. It's quite strange because the other fields in the API e.g. "Road" do accept unicode.
