Suggestions for WiGLE/JiGLE/DiGLE

I'd like to propose a general project direction of making a tool for people to generate their own maps based on sources which WiGLE itself might not be able to release. For example, generators for Mapquest, Terraserver (which I've already done), MapPoint (both online and on the computer), and MapSource. I know that this is relatively easy to do manually, but making a simple program to help could save some support time. When I have some more time over the next couple weeks I'll take a look at the map downloading stuff in gpsmap from kismet to see if I can incorporate that into my script. In the end, I think a more stand alone solution that a perl script would be superior, especially for those who don't want to pull down cygwin to get it to work. What do people think about this?

For those playing at home, making JiGLE/DiGLE MapPacks is pretty easy once you have the souce data and know the lat/long of the corners. Check out:

it has also been moved into the wiki
so you can add notes as you encounter more fun things when making your own

I'd just like to make something to make it pretty and easy. Sort of like the stuff for 3dem (http://www.visualizationsoftware.com/3dem.html) loading images for mapping onto elevation models.
