Is there any way to combine connecting counties like was done with that 4-county map from California?

photoshop :)

you could stich the images together, and make a .mappack file that had the gps coords for both the counties. We have plans to go to a tile-based system for maps so we can have higher resolution and they will stich themselves together, but we're a ways off from that.

Tried that...

...but the images didn't line up. I can get some of the roads/waterways to line up, but then the ones in other parts of the image don't fit. How did you create the California map pack? Photoshop?

Rendered it

I just gave our map generation software the area to render. The different counties might be slightly off because of the aspect ratio resizing we do. We hope to have state-wide, nation-wide, and world-wide maps sooner rather than later. :)

When you have done that, you will truly be a wonderous individual. Thank you!

A tip on stitching these together

What I've found, is that counties and stuff on the map packs aren't always accurately around just the county you got the map for. Keep in mind that most counties aren't square, and the maps are. You need to look at the top left and bottom right coords of the image, calculate deg per pixel, and then do the same for the 2nd image, and put them together accordingly. This can be a real pain in the rear. I'm working on some software now that will eventually automate this for you. However, I guess I won't have to if wigle is rendering up some big maps. I'll probably throw the feature in there anyway though. I'll post here when I finish it. :)
