What are the results from wwwd3? Didn't get a chance to make it to Vegas due to a bit of a financial situation, but I've been hungry for info all week, and it's only Monday! Also, does anybody know how the wardriving contest went?

the wep/default %-ages were pretty much the same. (a bit better) and almost 90k networks, 300 people, 52 areas, 4 continents.

er, as best i can remember ;-)

we're waiting until we can link in the results of the wardriving competition at defcon, but the Lords of Wireless - comprised of 5 of the top 10 WiGLE submitters - took the honors. this included the extraordinary efforts of bigezy who took a creative approach to unique points.

technically, "west of paradise blvd" *does* include L.A.

:->

we've been told this will result in a special "nevada only" rule for the drive at defcon 0x0c.

roamer ran a great contest (unrelated networking issues not withstanding), and the worldwidewardrive coins are pretty damn sweet.

If you read the official rules at

http://www.worldwidewardrive.org/dc11dr ... drive.html

[DEFCON 11 WarDriving Rules]
o Friday will consist of a two-hour drive of a TO BE ANNOUNCED section of Las Vegas. All teams will be driving in the same section.
The section on Friday will be one half of Las Vegas.
The section for Saturday will be the other half.

Los angeles is NOT the other half of Las Vegas.

the funny thing is...Lords of Wireless won WITHOUT Bigezy's data. It wasn't scored anyway. Now if it was...2500 unique AP's....
