Sorry to bother with problems, since I know that theres a lot with the new server, but i guess the more info the better.

I uploaded a file last night. Checked this morning, it was at number 94 in the queue. Went for a shower, came back and it was at 95. might wanna check up on this

DB tweaking is over, the queue is being processed now.

Postby Jay911 » Sat Jan 22, 2005 10:32 pm

Newbie here, uploaded my first file last night and it was #100. Checked it a few times before I went to bed and it was still #100, with eventually 2 or 3 more stacking up behind it.

This morning after I got up, it ultimately got moving, but went to #62, then back up to #101 or #102 somehow, and after a while, the queue drained.

As a raw newbie, can I ask a couple questions?

1. What's the policy on noticing a jammed-up queue like that? Post in here, email someone, leave it alone and let the experts handle it? :)

2. Is there anything I as a submitter should do to make sure I don't cause a log jam? IE. is it happening due to corruption in uploads - which we should ensure are as 'clean' as possible before sending?

Thanks,

--j.

From time to time the db needs maintenance done to it. I turned off file processing to do some work fri-sat. Feel free to post if it gets large, normal day-to-day it doesn't get very backed up.

Is 12 or 13 in the queue considered constipated?

Was doing some maintenance. It's processing now.

Sorry all, I dumped a 200+MB file into the system, I made the mistake of not checking it before I gzipped it. It's been running for the better part of the last two hours, and is at 85% finished with triangulation, so hopefully not too much longer.
