Different size APs

Notes regarding project status and info

I noticed over the last few days that the pixel "dots" that represent APs on WiGLE maps have changed to different sizes. Many APs on one side of my town (State College, PA) are very small dots while the other side of town is mostly larger ("typical") WiGLE dots. This effect is only seen while the red/green dots are *not* outlined in black; in other words, if you zoom in too far, this effect goes away.

New feature? Bug? No idea?

Sorry if this description is lacking.

The webmaps are rendered in squares, the size of the dot is dependent on the number of points in that area, so in areas where there is less density, the dots are larger to make them easier to read (especially in sparsely populated areas). A side effect of going to the draggable maps is seeing these different sizes side-by-side.

Bobzilla,

Thanks for the reply. Based on the locations of these APs, it totally makes sense to me how the dot-sizes are rendered.

Thanks again.

Hmm.. And if You're Not Doing Your Jobs, I'll put the Poking Stick<tm> into massproduction, and issue one to all 40K+ registered Wigle members.
