Looking to do some War Driving in the Buffalo, NY area soon! I will post a schedule when more information is available.

We will prefer to attract others in the area that have a vehicle, laptop, antenna(s), and other wireless goodies that could be used. I may have a few loaners when the time is right.

No Idea, I stumble there when I goto visit friends.

Do you need a group? Look at the map. Drive where you don't see AP's or not. Alot of the buff points are very old, and probably would need updates. I'd look using Jigle or Digle now that you are a member. Those will let you roughly show the age of AP's in the DB. Jigle supports GPSd and servers for that are available for all platforms so you can see where you are on the Map as you are driving if you need to.

Me, I just drive, log, and upload. I try to get an idea where hasnt been driven, rather than watching as I drive. I have 978 APs in Niagra County, and 2422 in Erie County.

Just found this site today. Will be getting my stuff together, as Im setting up a new laptop. Acer 3600, 2gb memory, etc. etc. Ive WD NT, North Buffalo, Kenmore, NF, Lewiston, Youngstown up to Lockport in the past, and look forward to posting as soon as I get setup.
My main problem now is the new laptop doesn't have a serial port to plug my Sportrack GPS into. Any recomends on a proper USB to Serial combo for XP?
Ive got some cheapo red chinese cable and software thats suposed to work but doesnt. Grr.

You can try looking for something that supports the OLD Palm devices. your cheap CH one may just be bad too.

Well hurry up! You should be able to get up fairly high in the stats if you want to. I don't even live there and I've driven by 14% of the mapped AP's in Erie County and 17% of the ones in Niagara.

What wifi setup are you running?

Ok, bumping this again. Looking to get a warparty together. Makes it nice since I got a van, which is easy to mount antenna on... Post back and we can hook up and do it. I know the map needs updating a bit now.

And If needed I got a lot of hardware serial-to-usb dongles, Laptops, cards, etc...

Hello to all. New to this and just uploaded first files this week. I'd be interested in talking with other Buffalo local wardrivers. I generally travel between points east and north of the city.
