There's a lot of troubleshooting advice on the forums here - you'll have to look around. This isn't a common set of complaints, so you'll have to look around.
When reporting issues, please include the device, Android version, and app version/source.
1. If you're using a Pixel 6-9, scanning is "nerfed" but not completely inactive when the screen of your device is locked. We haven't seen consistent reports with other devices, although it's worth noting that in recent Android versions, you'll get better scanning performance by disabling "Scan Throttling" in the Developer options.
2. Check the permissions you've denied the app. We don't ask for things we don't need, see whether you declined to grant permissions.
3. If you want to know more about your position lock, check the dashboard page - the top corner opposite the text will tell you where your location comes from and relative precision.
Without this info, people on the forums won't have enough info to help you.
