Does Wigle just hate my phone regarding cell towers?

I have an Android Turbo running 5.1 and was curious why it had only logged "2" new cell towers. I installed Wigle onto my daughter's phone (Samsung S7, unsure what exact version) - and when doing some discovery with her phone, over the same areas I travel, it logged 15 new cell towers.

I've got my settings configured as aggressive as possible with various "Time Between" settings as "Nonstop", and time between GPS updates as "Sync with Wifi", whereas all her settings would be default.

Does Wigle just hate my phone/version as far as cell tower discovery?

Some of my phones only log cell towers if the screen is on. I'm using an app that keeps the screen on and decreases the brightness (otherwise the battery would be drained in a few hours).

The app asks the OS framework for currently connected cell tower, it's up to the underlying OS to decide whether to return results or not, so it will vary by device/manufacturer/version.
