Best Android Solution?

I has been a while since I war drove, back when I did it it was amazing to get over 50 APs during an hour+ long drive.

This Android solution interests me, an automatically battery backed up stumbling rig. Are there any downsides to this? And if not, what hardware would you guys recommend?

well, obviously we're pretty proud of WiGLE WiFi Wardriving! Even if WiWiWa isn't your favorite, phone stumbling has a few great upsides:
  • the networks you observe are the networks within practical range
  • no need to schlep around a fragile stack of gear
  • everything is on a battery
  • not much setup and strike work
  • you can go places where anything larger than a phone just wouldn't work
Kismet for Linux is still a gold-standard - great package with ALL the bells and whistles, if you're planning on doing laptop-based stumbling, and you can see the complete list of supported formats on our uploads page

Thanks! :D

Perhaps I'll figure out a Raspberry Pi solution for my car. Something that starts stumbling when I start driving and uploads after I get home and it sees my home wifi.
