I tried this for an entire state once; it does take too long to be practical. But here's how I deal with the fact that my normal driving zone covers a couple counties. i believe SBC shipped a 2wire AP to customers that purchased a bundled DSL + a wireless base station. www.2wire.com probably has the archived press releases from a few years back when they started that.
