Re: Max DB recordings.

that's because Google maps would bog down/drain your battery rapidly with too large a number of dots. You can change your local build to retrieve more, but you'll find that Google Maps will become unresponsive/the app will run out of memory, or the phone out of battery if you set this much higher (y...

Re: 403 nginx on wigle api

It's possible that something about your account or connection was flagged as a violation of our terms. If you're attempting to use WiGLE data for business/commercial purposes without a commercial license, that makes perfect sense. You're welcome to reach out to the admins with your IP address, conne...

23 years of WiGLE

Somehow this hobby project has lasted for 23 years - a truly epic run. We owe that run in no small part to this amazing community of hobbyists, security researchers, and tireless walkers/runners/drivers/skaters/riders. Thank you for being a part of a delightfully weird and creative community, and fo...

Re: Maps not loading

If the maps are displaying, that's a type of bug. If the tiles aren't being rendered on top of the maps, that's probably a load issue with the server. Which one are you experiencing? We're seeing a load spike at the moment, but in general missing tiles happen because of timeouts and slow-downs in ti...

Re: Verification email not working, not being able to send a new one.

Certainly not!

If you refresh the page, does your username appear in the upper-right?
How about if you log out/back in?

Re: Antenna For Cell Phone Use

It's not possible to attach an external antenna to most (all?) phone WiFi chips, nor is it necessary or advisable for stumbling. It is never possible to use USB as an antenna connection. Most of us just use our phones in our pockets/backpacks/running armbands. If you're talking about external radios...

It's not possible to attach an external antenna to most (all?) phone WiFi chips, nor is it necessary or advisable for stumbling. Most of us just use our phones in our pockets/backpacks/running armbands. If you're talking about external radios, it's possible to do this, but requires rooting your phon...

Re: App unable to log in

you're clearly logged in, or you wouldn't be able to post to the forums!

Is this in the mobile app? if so, try the QR code login ("activate") - it might be easier. Please remember that passwords and usernames are case-sensitive!

Cheers,

Re: Cell Mapping Visulization

in "Basic search," on the site use the "Cell" tab - if you want to see the known perimeter of cell, search and select the tower in which you're interested.

Re: Open Source Datasets, Open Weights modeling initiative for widespread accurate 3dma positioning.

We'd certainly nominate the m8b approach ( https://github.com/wiglenet/m8b ) and welcome feedback on the idea - short version: M8B is an offline artifact that uses the unique parts of WiFi addresses as a "fingerprint" to guess what 1km square you're in based on WiGLE data. the 1km square i...

Re: DEF CON 32 RFHS World Wide War Drive

things are queueing just fine - otherwise the queue wouldn't be full!

we've processed an absolutely unprecedented number of files in the last week.
regarding a failed upload, does it happen when you retry?
