Re: Wigle Android BT block/filter feature

You can un-hide MACs by removing their entries from the exclusion list. The "wrench" icon in the main view brings up filter control, and the buttons will let you manage the lists.

Re: Wigle reset scanning after unplugging power?

that sounds almost like the application has crashed and been re-launched... or has been terminated. Can you send us (pm or email to wigle-admin[at] if you prefer) the crash logs from the device? If the device terminates the app, there won't be anything in the log, but on the off chance that...

Re: Wigle reset scanning after unplugging power?

the displayed list on the screen isn't cumulative - it's just showing the current visible networks (unless you configure it otherwise). The totals (the "Run" and new WiFi/Cell/BT headers in the list view shown in green/red/blue) should continue to increase. If these DO reset to zero when you unplug,...

HOW TO: Start/Stop Scan/Pause WiGLE WiFi Android when a battery, location, network, or other event happens

Guide to using intents in WiGLE: Some of the most common WiGLE WiFi feature requests include numerous permutations of "start/stop scanning," upload, or quit when certain external conditions are satisfied ( 1 , 2 ). While we may eventually implement the most popular of these in WiGLE WiFi Wardriving,...

Re: Wigle Wifi for Android: Suggestions

While this isn't implemented directly in the app, you can do this today using the PAUSE and SCAN broadcast intents using an app like Tasker.

It has hooks for power connected/disconnected events, as well as a number of other cool conditions - just send the intent to pause or scan accordingly!

Re: Google Pie and Wifi Wardriving

the "Pie" months will always mark a bad time for WiGLE - let's hope that Google doesn't continue with plans to remove startScan completely (this was deprecated a while ago)

Re: The growth of each of the participants

we have the overall statistics graphs that are updated daily. unfortunately, individual participants (with a few exceptions) wouldn't be visible on the same axes most of the time (and plotting thousands of series would be impractical). Would you be willing to provide some detail as to the formats an...

Re: Interference Between Wigle and WLAN Access …

Great idea! Please note that you can implement this with a broadcast intent service like Taker using the SCAN and PAUSE intents in the meantime! Documents the intents

Due to an over-aggressive bugfix for new Android releases by yours truly, 2.45 wouldn't run on Android J/K/L/M devices. 2.46 Should restore functionality on OLDroid.

Re: Querying for exact match SSID name

Interesting idea - what kind of searches would you like to see?
I think I'm not alone in having concerns about privacy with always-on home microphones, but it would be a cute google home/Alexa skill.

Re: Querying for exact match SSID name

try the advanced search page to get more specific!
the api is pretty powerful as well, and has interactive documentation... but you'll have to parse the JSON yourself

cheers, and thanks for your interest,

Re: Can't stop the signal, Mal

oh, those times are in milliseconds, I guess that's not super clear from context. note that Android Pie forces everything to 30000, so we don't jam past against the 4 scans / 2 minutes throttle.
