Well I've racked up close to 3,000 stations in Johnson County, KS and there's about 5500 or so total in this county, I think :) Another thing to try is go to the Web Maps section and type in your zip code to see if anything shows up on the web maps near you. Also, make sure you select "connect ...

Your best bet is to go wardriving in your county with a supported software version and GPS, then upload your logs. It wouldn't surprise me if there are hundreds of counties in the USA without so much as a single AP listed within them. Boulder county, Colorado? That seems kind of odd, but it could be...

Well, you'll be close to the WiGLE crew! They're in the Windy City. looks like chi-town proper has been beaten to death by stumblers just from looking at the web map. Do what I do, find someplace you go to (where you live, where you work, where you get groceries, etc) on the map. And look for city b...

I really want an opinion on this card/antenna

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=45000&item=5719920182&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW To me, it looks like a good deal. Prism chipset means it will work great with dstumbler, 200mw means it will go further, and the rubber ducky antenna means I'll be ahead of the game unti...

JiGLE - OpenBSD

My OpenBSD stumbling rig is pretty weak. P90, 40 megs of RAM, 4G Hard Drive. Right now, even mozilla's a pain in the butt to use (too much memory) so I stick to using WiGLE's web maps with Links in GUI mode. It works, except when I don't have 'net or if WiGLE's busy triangulating someone's logs (whi...

For UNIX gearheads, you could probably make any NMEA-Serial aware program work with gpsd. I don't use it, but I'd imagine I could get gpsd working, then make a few fifo's (maybe in /dev?) and then use netcat to fill the fifos from gpsd, and then tell the program you want to use to use your fifo as i...

Froggy, I'll get you a bigger HD for that thing if you don't have one already (I have a few 800-2.1 Giggers laying around.) Also we totally need to get you up to FBSD 5.2.1 or better yet, OBSD 3.5 with patches. I have the media for FreeBSD 5.2.1 but I use FTP installs for OBSD.

Heck yah! WiGLE rawks, it's why I use it! I just haven't seen it used so much. Must be all those weekend wireless warriors trying to get their stuff uploaded for "monthly" rank bragging rights ;) If I could donate, I would. I'm batting money probs now, but I always donate my log data. I've...

400+ In WiGLE Upload Queue

What's up with that? I've been waiting for about an hour for my logs to go through... I've never seen this many in the queue before, not even WWWD.

Kansas City Area?

Hey there, I searched and didn't find anything for the Kansas City area. I know there's plenty of you out there, given the vast amount of AP's reported here. I live in Olathe, work at JCCC in Overland Park, and I'm a part time pizza delivery driver in Olathe. You find all kinds of AP's delivering to...
