It's hard to tell if people got it working. (Google searching) Is there a setting to make it output in NMEA? That seems to be a key issue. http://gpsd.berlios.de/hardware.html Is what you have on this list? It appears, garmin is not default to output in NMEA, something gpsd needs to work. You may ha...
Kind of old.
I found this online... Washington Post:

Kind of old, looks like someone from Wigle responded. I always like reading articles that are researched and accurate.

Just a suggestion.
This may not be much help, but I think Amazon.com is selling your cable for $30? You have to supply other power to the gps, or let it run on batteries? I don't know if it is compatible. I would get a usb-powered gps puck for what looks to be around $40? I'm partial to a Globalsat BU-353. You can plo...
I would recommend using this gpsd.... http://www.netstumbler.org/158973-post1600.html I have always used it, even after updating kismet. It is solid as a rock. You can probably find a lot of answers to your questions if you search that forum. I also recommend reading the rules over there, if you hav...
Re: share files between the desktop and the laptop
Well people, i am a college student of 21. I bought a laptop and am trying to make it so that I can share files between the desktop and the laptop, and also print from the laptop directly to the printer that's connected to the desktop. How to get laptop to see desktop and its resources? Any helpful...

Re: gps for wardriving
Right now I am using a delorme earthmate lt-40 gps and I was thinking about getting another gps that acquires a fix in less time. What kind of gps would be good? Did you receive a PM response from me? I tried to send a message, and it looks like it is stuck in the outbox? EDIT: Nevermind, I think i...

That area has lots of potential. The thick swath through Northumberland's main street is me. I had a delivery to a business on 11 on the north side, and then went back into town and north west to a truck stop near 80. You definitely need to go over to Hazelton, and at least drive through the parking...

Re: Deprecated APs - processing?
What happens with old points that were found, but are no longer active? Do they get weeded out, or do they just sit forever? Sorry, my brain was being curious.... :?:   Everything stays, there is no way to know if it isn't active anymore really. Just because you don't detect an ap once,...
If I was going to do a version of R/C wardriving, I would try and do it with a plane or a helicopter. With a car, you can only drive it where you can see it, and are limited to a street, one of which can easily be collected by just putting the rig in your actual car and driving down it when you leav...
I am a fan of the USGlobalSat BU-353 . I have 3 of them. They are waterproof, and I just slapped it on the roof, and the magnet holds strong, and it is aerodynamic. Gone through snow and rain no problems. I also have one of these ( USGlobalSat BT-338 ). I found the earthmate, and I might have had an...
Re: er
hrm. yeah the logo "cut" stuff is a factor of our homebrew mapping tech, and how it tiles things. as to not "fitting" a road grid, its unusual for points to actually fit exactly, depending on how often they've been seen, and from where (and the gps reporting it and the rig invol...
Hey, give me a break. Only been at it with GPS for two days, and had to work on both of those days. :P I'll get more of it tomorrow morning; I'm actually gonna get out of bed so that I can do some driving before work. There you go... That is what I like to hear! Speaking of glitches, I just looked ...
Re: New Glitch
This is unrelated, but I found a glitch in the maps for my area. The pictures seem to not render properly. Put in 18603 as the ZIP, and scroll eastward - notice the cutoff on the Route 11 logo? I'd attach a photo but I don't think I can. I don't think that is a glitch. If you notice the webmaps map...
