May be is out of the question but....
Is there a way too query the database from outside the client? I mean as a webservice or something like that ?I was wondering if the holes where are no maps could be filled with googlemaps.com. I think theres an easy way to do that but again my question is if theres a way to query the wardriving database from outside the client or something else.

Best regards.
Thanks

the "query" link at the top of the page?

... there is no API for wigle.net, if that's what you're looking for. sorry.

we only publish maps from our site that we have generated based on datat acquired from the US government, who has released the data copyright-free.
if you can find a source of data for another country similarly unrestricted,
we'd love to have more detailed coverage.

I see. Its not so simply to get and publish maps . Even more harder is to get maps from all over the world as you tell me you did. However i think its easy to integrate with google maps or another free maps site. May be the question here is about ethics or moral. I mean if you are open source or non-profit you would not wanna use services from a profit organization even if the service is non-profit like google maps.

best regards

no, its not really anything like that at all.

we like drawing maps. and drawing things on maps.
we can't do that w/encumbered data.
